Last week I was part of a team coaching the BBC Proms Youth Ensemble for a World Premiere piece by composer Michael Gordon.

It was a joint BBC Prom with Bang-on-a-Can All Stars, where the Youth Ensemble was split into eight small groups (1 high wind/brass player, 1 low wind/brass player and 1 percussion), and each positioned around the Royal Albert Hall to create an impressive surround sound.

The students were all great to work with, and it was a fantastic loud piece to perform!
