Seal European Tour 2012

December 9, 2012

I have been touring with Seal for 5 years now, and each and every tour is completely different. This time, the line-up changed from the USA Tour in the summer and I became much more of a keyboardist and backing vocalist than ever before. I am now the only female in the band, so have some important vocal lines to sing!

Even throughout the hectic touring schedules, ideas crop up repertoire-wise and we try new songs. Seal is in the middle of writing new material and it’s always a treat to be one of the first people to hear what he’s been up to in the studio with Trevor Horn. We have often included new material in his touring shows and I am really enjoying now playing a lot of Hammond B3, Wurlitzer, Fender Rhodes, string lines and piano.

The end of this European Tour was in Manchester, UK, just a few miles from The Christie hospital where I have been treated for cancer for the past nine years. I was so glad to be able to get plenty of complimentary tickets and hand them out to lots of nurses and doctors who have been looking after me for so long. It felt like a small way of saying thank you for helping me get back to doing what I love, and I was glad that they could get to see what I do.

Here is a short clip from one of our shows on this tour (featuring me on backing vocals!)
