  • After years of touring & recording around the globe together with some incredible pop artists and bands, we’re always just as excited to come back to our classical roots. Last week we spent a wonderful few days in Linköping and now we’re beginning plans to commission works for our upcoming trio album 💿

Our line-up is flexible and full of colour:
Sarah on saxophone or trumpet
Carol on trombone

Massive thanks to Östgötamusiken for having us, and to Daniel Hormazábal Cortés @daniel_hormazabal_cortes for accompanying us so beautifully 🎹

If you love the sound of this combo, or you’re a composer interested in collaborating, we’d love to hear from you! 🎶

Really looking forward to heading out to Sweden this week! 🇸🇪
Every year this fabulous course hosts two different instruments, and this year it's the trombone and saxophone, so who am I bringing along with me? @fieldbrass of course! 🥳

Today is World Cancer Day, and it’s also one year since this documentary about my cancer journey was released.

Every time I share my story, there are moments that still shock me - that it was actually me who went through all of this. Years of failed treatments, transplants, clinical trials, endless scans, transfusions and tests. Somehow, I endured it all.

Unfortunately, we all know someone who’s been diagnosed with cancer, or someone we’ve lost to it. It touches every single one of our lives.

In our close-knit family of four, I was the first, aged 25. Then my mum went through breast cancer. Then we sadly lost my dad to kidney cancer. Then my brother was diagnosed with a blood cancer. Then my mum went through breast cancer again. According to the genetics experts, none of it is related. Just “bad luck”. Apparently. I’m not convinced, but there’s no way of knowing.

This documentary was never just about me though…
It’s for those heading into battle, and for the families and friends walking beside them. For hope. For perspective. For the reminder that resilience can exist alongside fear.

I feel incredibly lucky to be able to share my story at clinical trial conferences around the world… putting a human face to the extraordinary work of scientists and clinical trial teams changing lives every day. And I’m proud to say that this hour-long presentation that I share is now being shared in corporate spaces too, showing what hope, resilience and optimism can do when life gets brutally hard, and how important it is to live in the moment.

A huge thank you to World Courier and Cencora for inviting me to join them in creating this documentary and bringing it to life.

🎵 It’s worth watching for the stunning soundtrack alone, which was composed by @christian.heschl_composer

The long-awaited clarinet content (that nobody asked for), is finally here! A clip from the WFUV radio show - a quick stop in the middle of the US/Canada tour with the wonderful @elbowofficial back in the Autumn.

A bit of context for the newbies here: I had a 15min lesson from the one and only @fieldbrass on the clarinet last summer and that was it - naturally followed by summer festivals and a tour of America 🇺🇸
