Capitol Studios, Hollywood

I am very grateful for the training I had when studying at the Royal Northern College of Music. We had some stunning classes on arranging, orchestrating and composing and these added ‘strings to my bow’ have become very useful in recent years.

Not only have I been transcribing, arranging and orchestrating horn parts and full orchestra scores for Seal, his tours and orchestral concerts, but word has slowly spread and I have recently been asked to orchestrate string parts for an American-born and Russian-raised artist called Elizaveta.

It has been great to be able to continue with this avenue of work during my recovery from my bone marrow transplant. I haven’t been able to go out and do gigs, as that takes an awful lot more energy than I have at the moment, so I am very grateful for this kind of work which has not only kept me busy, but helped with my recovery at the same time.

These recent string orchestrations have just been recorded at the legendary Capitol Studios in Hollywood, and here is the music video to one of the tracks called ‘Meant’:
